Stichting Jungle was established to support and facilitate the artistic development of Jungle by Night, while developing and producing projects in the field of arts and culture to bring music, theater, and other art forms to the widest possible audience. As a foundation, we create an environment where artistic innovation and cultural exploration can flourish.

The board of Stichting Jungle exists of 5 members with all total different backgrounds to bring diverse perspectives and expertise to support the foundation's mission and activities.

Emiel Barendsen

Emiel Barendsen

Chairman Apr 2021 - Apr 2029

Emiel Barendsen is Chairman of the Board and has an extensive career in the performing arts. He has been an independent concert promoter, impresario, and consultant since 1979, and has held positions such as Programme Director and CEO of Tropentheater. Emiel also presides over several cultural initiatives, including the Morgenland Festival Amsterdam.

Peter Kan

Peter Kan

Peter Kan is an entrepreneur in the music and entertainment industry. He is the founder of music marketing agency First Day of Spring, event organizer Audio Obscura, and owner of immersive art platform Unfold.art.

"Serendipity brought me to Lowlands festival where I was blown away by 9 young musicians. Now I have the honor to support them in keeping their magic alive."

Roland de Jonge

Roland de Jonge

Roland de Jonge, Director of Tax at Mazars Amsterdam, has extensive experience in the music and entertainment industry, particularly with legal and tax issues. His expertise includes structuring international royalty flows and organizing local and international operations. Roland also serves as the treasurer for the Stichting Jungle Foundation. He’s also a board member of Stichting Nowhere.

“I love going to festivals and I discovered Jungle by Night during Lowlands 2019. It was instant love and I am happy and honoured to be a part of the board and I hope to contribute to the growth of their career."

Iris Otten

Iris Otten

Iris Otten is a producer at Juliet (Pupkin) and has produced numerous award-winning films and series. She brings her creativity and vision to the board, eager to inspire new generations with heartening stories.

Thomas Lievestro is a creative entrepreneur and experience designer with over 18 years of experience. He specializes in web, app, and experience design, focusing on user-friendly and visually appealing experiences.

Board Regulations

The board regulations were established on October 23, 2021, in Amsterdam, supplementing the foundation's statutes. These regulations ensure proper governance and transparent operations.

Board Composition & Independence

The board is composed to ensure members can function independently as competent directors, supervisors, and advisors. Members are selected based on a profile description that outlines required qualifications and expertise.
